Actinic vs Clickcartpro - Possible new Customer

Hi, I am thinking of buying Actinic Catalog 8, I currently use Clickcartpro for my websites but fed up of buying it then adding on all the modules to make it work i.e. SEO mod and so on and so on which brings it up to nearly the same price of Actinic anyhow.

My questions are...

1. I understand you have to pay extra to link to epdq (barclays), but with others like Nochex is this included?

2. With regard to search engines, am I right in thinking every page can be seen by robots in HTML format and not hidden in databases like with CCP?

3. Can I reskin in Dreamweaver?

4. can it basically do everything Clickcartpro can?

5. Is there a site which sells addons should I need any?

I have never seen click cart pro.

But i can tell you this

There are 20 ways of accepting payments/orders, Nochex, paypal, PROTX Worldpay are to name but a few.

2. With regard to search engines, am I right in thinking every page can be seen by robots in HTML format and not hidden in databases like with CCP?

Have a look at some of the sites in my siganture, all i can say is google likes actinic sites, you will have to put the right ground work in but they are spider friendly.

3. Can I reskin in Dreamweaver?

There are dreamweaver interfaces and a number of people here design in dreamweaver. V8 is a major change to earlier versions but issues are being fixed.

4. can it basically do everything Clickcartpro can?

Yes you do - it requires a contract with Secure hosting at £100 pa.

Pages are HTML and as you say they are not hidden in a database. All spiders have no problem indexing an Actinic site.

3. Can I reskin in Dreamweaver?

Yes - you can apply any design you can develop in DW to V8.

4. can it basically do everything Clickcartpro can?

From what I know of CCP it can - if you have specific requirements then post them and we can give an answer. For general info the Actinic website is the place.

5. Is there a site which sells addons should I need any

There is as posted above. V8s new open code structure allows you to develop your own specific solutions as well.
