    Problems uploading site

With v8 in Test Mode, trying to upload the site, I receive the following error message:-

"Some filenames conflict. All files being sent to the web site must have unique names. Please check the list of files in Design | Additional Files.

Some of the following files must be renamed before an upload can occur. Once the files are renamed, reselect them in the Actinic.

    C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\index.html
    C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\acatalog\index.html"

    Then the upload terminates.

I've never had this problem with v7.

    Any suggestions?

    Yet another new one!

I'd give the Compact databases in Housekeeping a bash first thing and see if this clears the problem.

Tried Compact Database, still the same message. Tried changing the file names but Actinic still reports their presence as index.html and acatalog\index.html after they have been changed and another compact database carried out.

          Hi Brian

I would check to see if you have put in the webpage a link like "acatalog\index.html". If so, then it possible it could cause this error and you would need to change it to a full link instead.

          Kind Regards

            Thanks Nadeem, I'll try that.

Would that not have affected the site uploads in v7 as well?
The v8 site is a snapshot from my current v7 site.

Is the Brochure home page called index.html and the Use as website homepage unticked? This would cause a problem if you have also called your main shop page index.html because you would be asking Actinic to stick them both in the /acatalog/ folder. Brochure index.html only goes in the website root if it is being used as website home page.

I did have a link to acatalog\index.html in one of my pages. Changed this and managed to upload the site. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with a v7 upgrade. There was a fragment on the homepage linking to the terms and conditions page with a standard <a href="acatalog/info.html">info page</a> The site would not upload until i changed the link to <a href="<actinic:variable name="InfoURL" />">info page</a> But after it was changed, it uploaded just fine.

Why would a link cause the upload to fail? Links don't create page duplicates...
