Price Including Tax

I want to be able to enter a price for a product (eg £84.95) and for that to be the price including tax. Then in the shopping cart it should show as £72.30 plus £12.65 VAT

No matter which setting I choose I can't get this to work.

What is the correct Price Layout for this?

On the product page it either needs to say just £84.95 or £84.95 (includes vat at 17.5%)

Hi Rob

If I choose Standard Tax Inclusive Price layout, this is how it appears by default on my site. Could you please check in Settings | Site Options | Layout, under Product - Price Layout, if the layout selected is the Tax Inclusive one?
Also, please make sure that the individual sections are using this layout as well. With this option, price will by default be displayed as :
Price: £30.00 (Including VAT at 17.5%),
and in the cart, it will appear as £25.53 with the VAT amount in a row of its own.

With everything set as you say to Standard Tax Inclusive Price it does display as you mentioned with one exception:

If I type in a price of £5 into the General Tab of Product Details, the price displayed is £5.88 (Including VAT @ 17.5%)

I want to be able to enter the total price of £5 and have it display as £5.00 (Including VAT @ 17.5%)

Otherwise I will have to enter Tax Exclusive prices and let Actinic calculate the price. The downside of this is that it appears impossible to arrive at a total price of £5 like this as entering £4.25 gives a total of £4.99 and entering £4.26 gives a total of £5.01

Is it not possible to do what I want?

Ah, I see what you mean. To get the correct rounding, you will need to set a custom VAT rate to let Actinic calculate the price to the nearest pound. Alternatively, you can turn off VAT in Business Settings and manually incorporate the tax amount into the product prices.

Disregarding the rounding issue, isn't there a way in which I can enter £5.00 as the total and have it display as £5.00 (Including VAT @ 17.5%) on the product page and then in the Cart as £4.26 plus 0.74 VAT?

I am afraid that will not be possible. To display the prices as a whole including pre-calculated tax, VAT needs to be turned off in Business Settings; as that is a global setting, VAT will not be displayed in the cart either.
