mailto link from Act_ProductLine

Hi
Im trying to add a simple button within the Act_ProductLine Code.
I have added the mailto:sales@company.co.uk?subject=ProductName code in the 'Layout Code' view.
I have uploaded a test site but when i click on the button it tries to open a page with the domain name, like
http://www.domain.co.uk/acatalog/tes...ubject=product name

Instead of simply opening the default mail software such as outlook express, etc.

Any idea why it is doing this?
