can we assume this is a snippet of live code? or have you editted it - i only ask because the URL is without co.uk ie deltanicola/cgi-bin etc

Post #20 from just over 2 days ago seems to be what was the problem. I simply cannot believe the hacks I am seeing in this thread, quite incredible. Put the bloody logo into the 2 fields in site options as I asked you about and for both logo layouts, use the exact code I provided. Once the site is live, it will work guaranteed, no ifs no buts, or should I say it has on the 50 odd sites I have ever created or been part of.

LOL - I can see the frustration Lee, hence why i checked the logo was in both places under the site options.

Mine was not ment to be a hack more and observation to the code posted in post 43, if it works then its the code that wrong.

But why actinic would generate code looking for the image outside of the acatalog folder would bring me to the observation its been tampered with.

the standard company logo layout would be this, my method, not neccesarily the right one

Absolutely Taddy, the code i provided is very similar to the standard code, all I have added is the home page link, a title attribute for Firefox, removed the class which does nothing useful and made sure no border shows as it is now a link.

This is either a wind up or there is something fundamentally borked or hacked up on the site. Get back to basics, revert the logo layouts back to factory settings, make sure you have added the logo to both fields in site options(don't just say yes to any question you are asked) and get the logo showing on both pages first. That is 98% of the way there and how 10,000+ actinic sites currently work.

I'm actualy getting a bit sick of these accusations now.

If my installation of Actinic has screwed itself up somehow, so be it, but it's not something I've done, I didn't even install it in the first place!

There was an issue previously which I raised with Actinic support. Originally the issue was that whenever I attempted to change either the Company Logo or Brochure Logo image settings in Settings|Site Options, Actinic would work for a few seconds, then just crash out on me. This was eventually cured by uninstalling and re-installing Actinic. I just can't help wondering if this is somehow connected...

What's even weirder is I just uploaded the site in Test mode - the logo appears fine on all pages. Switched back to Production Mode and it's done it's disappearing act again...

I'll also see if I can get the site uploaded to the proper server, not just the internal one, to a) see if that makes a difference and if not then b) so you guys can have a look around.

If anyone wants to try and test this issue then I can make a snapshot available.

Can I just reiterate again. This is not a wind up! What would the point be?

OK have you cleared your browsers cache, if it works on the test site then its possibly your bowser holding old copies.

also change you script id number on the live site and do a full refresh

Thanks Darren, have cleared the cache, still no joy.

Currently attempting to get the site uploaded to the proper server, but Actinic is not liking the new settings. Need to reboot the server it's residing on, which can't be done until lunch time...

It was only mentioned twice and both times by me, so don't get all melodramatic about it, some people like to waste other peoples time, the same as others like to infect our PCs with viruses, heaven knows why. As the story went on, it seemed more and more dodgy to me. If i was wrong, then I apologise.

You have been asked to provide a URL, you have been told at least 6 times about the 2 different places to define the logo, not once did you step in and confirm you know about that part and in fact you have had some problems in this area which support had dealt with.

It's OK saying it's supposed to be a support forum, absolutely yes I agree, but you have to help us to help you. Helping us means being clear on what has happened, showing us the problem live and providing any useful information while we provide our FREE unpaid time to try and assist you.

I understand that, and I am extremely grateful for any and all support everyone has provided so far, and I'm sure will continue to provide in the future. Yes, I'm new, and I can also understand people having a few reservations, but this is not a wind up. I wish it was, because at least then I wouldn't be having this problem!

I have replied previously and stated that Actinic is currently only live locally ie visible to those PCs on my network. Currently changing the settings to the proper server so I can get you guys a URL, but we need to reboot the server first, which won't be done till lunchtime (see above).

I'm sorry if you think this is a waste of your time, but it's a real issue! And no, I didn't mention the other issue I raised with Actinic support because although it could be related, I had assumed (OK, maybe naively) that the issue had been resolved with the reinstall.
