    Seperate Delivery Address fault

I am now having a problem with the seperate delivery address selection in the checkout page 1 (which I thought was a default setting).

In the KB it gives instructions on how to disable the seperate delivery address but not to enable it. Mine does not work and I would like it to:

    See screenshots:

I would like either the checkbox on page 1 of the checkout to transfer to page 2 and allow the entry of a seperate address or enable the view as seen in page4 (screenshot).

I thought this would be easy to set up as it seems that by default, seperate addresses are expected.

Ok, I think I may have found the error.

I had commented out the text:

    Country: United Kingdom

It seems that even if you are only allowing UK deliveries this piece of code must be in to allow the seperate delivery address function to work.

      That didn't work.

BUT in Settings|Business Settings|Tax|Advanced I have now changed to Tax by Invoice Address and it now allows the seperate invoice/delivery address function.

There are an awful lot of settings here that can mess up the complete setup if one or other are disabled or set wrong.

This is a good argument for NEVER deleting any of the layout code (HTML), just commenting out (which is what I always do).

It would be nice if this setup was documented in the User Guide somewhere as it does seem like a common option for users which is difficult to set up.

        Hi Mike

If you go to 'Help | Help Topics' and then look at 'Business Settings | Only Allowing One Address Per Order' you get the full details of how to set this up.

Sorry it hasn't worked for you thus far. Could you try following the instructions again and see how it works out for you?

Thanks for that. I have now got it working by going through the whole process again and following the experiences of others.

You do have to set up the shipping and Tax before anything else.

Also, you cannot actually remove the text:

          Invoice to:
          United Kingdom

          Deliver to:
          United Kingdom

from the checkout page else you get the 'select shipping address' error.

There is one more thing in that the only way to have the 'delivery address different' checkbox unselected by default is to change the HTML as I cannot find the value of the InvoiceSeparateCheckStatus variable so I have had to replce the whole line.
