Manual/guide For End Users Of Shopping Cart

Is there such a thing as a user guide to shopping online with Actinic written for for the end user (the shopper)?
By this, I mean a step-by-step manual or something similar (an idiot's guide) for those completely new to e-shopping.
There is a charity group I am involved with who want to put their wares on-line, and the end users of the e-shop will nearly all be senior (pensioner) first-time computer users and shoppers. The group wants to have a tutorial session for group mentors (themselves all seniors) prior to going live.

There is a little bit in the standard "terms & conditions" about making a purchase but nothing too detailed.

You would be better writing this yourself as the theme / site layout could influence the way it is composed (click the green button in the top left etc). Create your own focus group and get some of the others (not those who have built the site) to sit down and try and make a purchase ... watch and note what they do and where they struggle and implement the notes (or design changes) accordingly.

SUN and XEROX were famous for this back at the start of computing and it paid dividends with their site and usability.

It would also be worth searching the net on usability (www.useit.com is worth a look) to check out info on the needs of older users, issues, expectations etc

I am not aware ofActinic producing a guide as most people have been using ecommerce for years. Its a good idea to make a simple guide for seniors am there is probably one out there on the internet.

We customise our sites so each one will be different however the checkout processes are nearly the same for all shops.

Perhaps the government has guides to online shopping. Its worth checking on their site. Or, you could do a google search for using ecommerce.

The main thing is making sure your using a secure server during the transaction and by law the terms and conditions have to be easily available for the customer to read.
