    Snapshot Failing

Following upgrading to 8.0.3 ALL of my V7-8 sites are failing to snapshot. I am getting multiple errors for missing pages: (File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 573) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Rural Web\acatalog\Domain_names.html was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.

All the pages are there and nothing has changed on the sites except for upgrading to the latest version of V8. I have tried restoring earlier snapshots and backups but they all fail.

Any new sites snapshot works OK.

How you getting on with this, any good?

Send me a snapshot and i will try it my end, as when you and Jo did this for me, it solved the problem. It was linked to a script overwrite i believe which could only happen if either you or Jo sent them and then i could overwrite etc. through the security warning.

Just popping to the shop (10 mins max) and then i will test it for you.

If theres anything in particular you would like done, let me know and i will do it straight away when i'm back.

Probably be a few mins before i get it anyway, if its quite big.

The issue is you have a link of the following form somewhere in your layouts...

                        <a href="acatalog\Domain_names.html">...</a>

When you take a snapshot, Actinic looks for this file on the desktop in order to back it up. If it doesn't find it you get an error - but the snapshot is still taken aside from that.

The way to fix it is to the use the 'CatalogURL' variable within the link as this variable will be replaced by http://your.URL/acatalog/ address.

I have - but why has it all been working ok until 8.0.3? Do I have to use variables - can I not use the full url in the outer layout.

You can use the full URL - that will be fine. You just can't reference a local path to an HTML file or Actinic complains.

The issue was that up until 8.0.3 the snapshot was actually missing quite a few files when it took the snapshot. This led to some perfomance issues - i.e. you would take the snapshot onto the client's PC and files would be missing that Actinic was looking for so everything slowed down.
