BUG? Prices in components/choices dropdown using associated products

    Maybe it's just me?

I have setup a product with a component, an attribute and a number of choices. The permutations are set so that the pricing of each choice uses an associated product for stock control purposes.

The price is displayed in the dropdown next to the choice. I have price schedules setup for retail and trade. All is working fine when viewing as a retail customer. However, when one logs in the retail prices are still shown. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

    Hi Jonathan

This is a limitation in the permutation prices I'm afraid - they can only show retail prices.

You might want to use the 'Customer Message' field of your product to include a pricing message to your logged-in trade customers.

      Thanks Chris,

I had a feeling it would be a perculiarity rather than a bug!

Would you mind adding support for permutations with associated prices and price schedules to the wishlist.

      Thanks!

        Sure thing.

We almost didn't include the permutation/price feature at all, because of this limitation. It will hopefully be addressed in a later release.

          Sorry Chris, I've another question!

In the instance that a permutation isn't valid (as set at the permutations tab) where does the text come from on the bounce page:

[Not Used] We are sorry, the combination you selected cannot be ordered, please select again...
I can't find it when I search through the text, only the version that is there is the one that appears if something is out of stock.

Should something relevent to the incorrect choice replace the [Not Used] bit? It looks a little odd!

You can find them in 'Design | Text'. Just search for 'combination' and you'll find the relevant text prompts.

              Thanks Chris,

I'd tried that and the message quoted in my previous post does not appear in Design | Text or in any of the .pl or .pm files in my Site1 folder.

              Please advise.

OK - it looks like we have hidden a text prompt incorrectly.

If you have MS Access you can go into the 'ActinicCatalog.mdb' database and open the 'Checkout Prompts' table. Go to record '1149' - it should have an 'ID' of '296'.

Change the last field - bHidden - from '-1' to '0'. Now close Access and reopen Actinic. You will now be able to find that prompt via Design | Text and edit it accordingly.

I will report a bug for this.

                  Update?

FYI - this bug still exists. Also, 'Short Description' for this text is 'Prompt Name goes here' and 'Full Description' is 'Prompt Description goes here'.

Thanks Dave - I have added your name to the thread, so it should move higher up the list of things to be fixed.

ok, so we're nearly only v903, any chance of price schedule display for components being fixed/added?

Sorry Jonathan - this is still on the wish list.
