    Javascript: location.hash error

    Hi all,

    I've been working on our website for a few weeks now, and i seem to have made a slight error.
    I thought it would be useful to show customers stock quantity due in from the supplier and the due date should the item concerned be out of stock.

    I inserted two variables using the "Date prompt text" and "Other info prompt" fields in the catalogue.

    However this obviously didn't work, so we deleted the variables, but now get this error on certain products.
    I can't fathom out why this is happening - we've cleared the data out of those two fields in the catalogue and re-imported the catalogue, but upon doing this, actinic is re-inserting the data from somewhere.

    Take a look at our site to see what is happening:
    http://www.elitex.co.uk

    Please ignore the fact that some of the images are missing - it looks as if i've lost a few files over the weekend while trying to get this problem resolved!

    Any help appreciated - i have put a technical help request in by email to actinic, but no response yet.

    Regards

    I quickly gave up looking as I couldn't find a page with this error. You can help us by posting a specific URL and pointing to the problem product.

      Hi there Norman,

      Thanks for the quick response.

      It's happening on a lot of our products unfortunately,
      For instance, if you go to http://www.elitex.co.uk/acatalog/SONY_LCD_TV_s.html

      Click on any item thas shows in stock (add to cart button is showing)

      If you click on that, you should get the error replicated.

      Best regards

        Hi there,

        When checking today, the link shows "Out of Stock" products. I checked the other section and could add to cart fine, however there is an additional problem here, when you add to cart, the mini basket is not showing the details, this is because the url has been changed to: http://cgi.www.elitex.co.uk/cgi-bin/...uk/cm000001.pl

        Normally it should be:
        http://www.elitex.co.uk/cgi-bin/www....uk/cm000001.pl

        If you update the network settings on that, then the mini basket will work

          I just took a look and it seems to be working fine.

          One thing I will bring to your attention is your extended info pop-up is not declaring a window size and is being a bit arbitrary in the size of window it pops up. Some are hugely wide whilst others are very narrow.

          Boy, this is a big learning curve.....and YES I've got my crampons on!

            That page you mentioned in post #3 is littered with many copies of
            Code:
            <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
            var sc_project=2023218;
            var sc_invisible=1;
            var sc_partition=18;
            var sc_security="80900d0b";

            </script><script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/frames.js"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.statcounter.com/" target="_blank"><img  src="http://c19.statcounter.com/counter.php?sc_project=2023218&amp;java=0&amp;security=80900d0b&amp;invisible=1" alt="free hit counter code" border="0"></a> </noscript>
            leading to very slow page load tmes.

              Hi Nadeem,

              I've tried altering the network settings as suggested, however because we host with demon internet, their sgi scripts are located in different places.
              If i change it to what you suggested, i get a 404 error - unable to locate or write to the cgi bin.

              If anyone has a suggestion to get round this problem i would be most grateful!
              It's a minor error, but a niggle all the same!

              Thanks for the info.

                  I've located the file, replaced the coding where stated and refreshed the site.

                  I'm obviously going wrong somewhee!

                    Hi Troy,

                    Sorry didn't realise you was using Demon, then revert back to the old setting, as you had it before, and apply the knowledgebase article please.
                    Basically scrap what I had said please

                    Kind Regards

                      Hi Nadeem,

                      I've tried that but no change

                      My network settings are:
                      CGI-BIN url:
                      http://cgi.www.elitex.co.uk/cgi-bin/www.elitex.co.uk/

                      Path from cgi-bin to acatalog directory:
                      /docs/www.elitex.co.uk/acatalog/

                      Catalog url
                      http://www.elitex.co.uk/acatalog/

                      Path from CGI-Bin to acatalog directory as viewed by the FTP Server:
                      ../docs/acatalog/

                      All that works when i click test, and i can upload and change the web content.

                      However, for some reason, even when i changed the coding in the actinic.pm file to look at our domain (i put www.elitex.co.uk) it doesn't show the mini cart as having any items - just shows Items 0, Value 0
                      If you click on "View Cart" then whatever you have added to the cart shows, and then the page bounces back so you can add further items.
                      Once that page bounces, the mini cart shows empty again.

                      Am i giving the actinic.pm file the right domain settings?

                      Thanks for your help so far!

                        What have you got in your Actinic.pl file?

                        It should be:
                        Code:
                        print "Set-Cookie: " . $sCartCookie . # set the cookie
                        "; EXPIRES=" . $sCartExpiry .
                        "; PATH=/; domain=www.elitex.co.uk;\r\n";
