Page widths - not resizing correctly and misaligned

I am experiencing page width issues that seem quite random to me.

You can see that the product width for katana and wakizashi is correct but the fragment below has lost about a quarter of its width.

It is the same problem on the chinese category page.

Bai long jian product doesn't look like it stretches to the page.

Probably the worst page is where the text doesn't stretch and the product does't also.

I tried searching on the forum for similar problems but I haven't found it. I am guessing its something quite simple. But I am scratching my head as to what it could be.

    Could someone please help.

On looking at the pages initially, it would appear that fragments have a smaller size than everything else. Have you checked the layouts you are using or fragments and ensured there is nothing different?

Have you clicked on one of these fragments in design view and checked it against anything?

Looks like you have a fixed width on the fragments and 100% on the sections

        Thanks for your suggestions.

It gave me an Idea to look into:

        settings>site options>layout>product>width of product list

It was set to 500 so I changed it to 100%

This seems to have done the trick.

        Thanks guys.

        I always appreciate you help.

Setting it to 100% did the trick but now the right column reloads everytime you visit a page. This is quite annoying. The left column stays the same, the content column loads as expected but the width of the right column is reloaded everytime. This results in a longer wait for the page to load.

I have no idea what a 100% page width of my site would look like on a 17in or 19in monitor. I am suspecting it might look a real mess. So perhaps I am better returning it to its default sizes? What were the default width of section list and width of product list?

Also is it possible to set the extended info window to 100%? or would I be better to match the default page sizes as mentioned above.

Thanks for any info or help.

the physical size of the monitor has no effect, it is the pixel size you need to consider.

            screen resolutions include

            800x600
            1024x768
            1280xsomething else
            widescreen and so on

these are the factors you have to bear in mind whilst designing. These plenty in the community regarding scren res/fluid design/fixed design and so on
