Section and sub section layout help needed...

    Hi all

I want to set up my product sections like this: http://www.inkcycle.co.uk/epson_ink_...lednmpo7lj08q7

Any ideas on how this can be achieved?

    Many thanks

    Neil ;-)

    Hi Neil

Do you mean 2 styles of showing the products, One mini view of the product with an add to cart button, and a full details on the product. If so, then you would simply create a product, apply a compact layout on it, so it just shows the name, description, price and add to cart button. Then create a duplicate of that product within its own section, and apply the standard product layout on it, so it shows all details.

        Hi Nadeem

        Thanks for your reply ;-)

In the first instance I'm want to to create a section that lists all the individual products as in the example site I posted earlier. However this list may contain headers or sub section lists....for example: if someone clicks on 'epson inkjet cartridges' then the entire list of epson cartridges is viewable but split into the different printer groups...does this make sense?

          Hi Neil

Ahh okay I see what you are saying. This could be done in many way. One would would be to create a section called "Epson Inkject Cartridge", then you will create new sections for all epson printers, then back in the main "Epson Inkject Cartridge" section, simply create fragments with links on them for the sections, perhaps using a compact fragment? It can be achieved in Actinic

            Hi Nadeem

Thanks for the reply ;-) That sounds like a mamouth task when you consider all the printers we have cartridges for also our live site (still in developer 6) is driven by a excel spreadsheet, would I be able to create you suggestion using the spreadsheet in V8 as I really want to take the plunge and get the site into V8?

            Many thanks

You could use the "Entire Section List" feature and create a new SectionLink layout which displays the sections' subsections with it's link. I'm not really sure how this would work exactly (Chris Dicken is your man for that). But there is a post Here which will give you a starting point.
