    Template images

    Hi,

I have uploaded my Actinic store to my webspace (www.highstreetsaver.co.uk) which includes the addition of two promotional pictures. These were added to the site template using the following code:

    <p align="center"><img src="/promotion_returns_small.jpg" width="120" height="94" alt="returns" /> </p>
    <p/>

I am able to see the images on all pages within Actinic but on the website I
can only see them on the homepage. All other pages are not finding the images.

Looking at the properties for the images on the website, the url shows as the following on the homepage:

    http://www.highstreetsaver.co.uk/aca...urns_small.jpg

and the following on all other pages:

    http://www.highstreetsaver.co.uk/pro...urns_small.jpg

Can someone advise how I overcome this problem?

    Regards,

    Trev

If you remove the / and leave only the filename, Actinic should then be able to correctly interperet the location of the image.

      Bill,

      Again, thanks for your help.

I have just noticed one other problem.

Then I go to the add an item to the basket and then view the checkout I am able to enter all necessary personal details before being asked to click on the paypal button to pay for the item. When I do this the website just takes me back to the last page I viewed within the catalogue.

Can you tell me how I resolve this problem?

I have entered all my PayPal details within Actinic and uploaded the settings to the website. I have also tested this in IE and Firefox and get the exact same problem.

      Regards,

      Trev

You should not have a Paypal button. Paypal should be presented as a choice in the Payment Methods dropdown (combobox).

If you have added that button yourself, then get rid of it.

          Bill,

I have not added the button, Actinic has created the icon on it's own.

          Regards,

Ah, I tested it - its the paypal logo on the click here to go to Paypal screen...

Never seen that before, but it is the only payment choice you have - maybe that is why.

When I clicked the button, it took me to the Paypal site (I then backed out and erased the basket).

I really had to hunt for the checkout button - there is nothing to distinguish it from the other navigation down that left hand side...

The update/continue/checkout buttons on the basket page are almost invisible too. I knew they were there, but had to hunt.

Very strange that you are taken to the paypal screen after clicking on the logo. I have tried several times and rebooted but am always taken back to the last page I visited before the checkout.

I have tried this on IE and Firefox today and yesterday with the same problems. I have also asked a friend to try on his AOL account, on this laptop and he gets the exact same problem.

Any suggestions of where to go from here?

Delete your temporary internet files and cookies related to your website and try again.

Your friend's AOL isn't a good test - they often filter their results.

If there is an intermittent error, this is probably host related. Try checking the error.err file on your website to see if there is an entry for your failure - and if you can reach the server error logs, check those.

If not, tell your host about the problem, giving them date and time information for when the error occurs and see if they can track it down.

This is normal when Paypal is the only payment option.

When I clicked the button, it took me to the Paypal site (I then backed out and erased the basket).
This is what should happen but when I tried it threw me back to the product page.

You have a problem and I suspect as bill suggests that it is host related as the site works as it should and it is the transfer to paypal that is not working.

                    OK, guys

Thanks for your help today. I will contact the host company again with these details.

                    Regards,

                      Any more ideas

                      Hi,

The host company say this is not a problem caused by the servers.

Does anyone have further idea to what the problem may be?

                      Regards,

                      Trev

You may be better posting this as a new thread with a meaningful title. At the moment probably only people interested in "Template images" are seeing this.
