    Where's the code hidden for this?

    Hi all,

    In my stupidity i inserted an invisible stat counter from statcounter.com
    realising the error of my ways i decided to delete the code as it wasn't a good idea.

    Hmmm!
    It appears that the code is manifesting itself all over the website, and now when you click on any product "add to cart" button it tries to go to the cart, but after a few seconds bounces to the statcounter website - something i don't want it to do!

    I've searched everywhere to locate this to get rid of it without success.

    Anyone here know where i should be looking?

    the error manifests itself here:
    http://cgi.www.elitex.co.uk/cgi-bin/...uk/ca000001.pl

    Best regards

    You will find that the code is lying in one of the outer layouts. I may even be sat in the Content Page which you can select from the Design tab and the dropdown for Content Page.

          Try Design / Library / Layouts, click the very top then use right-click / Find (check the Code option) to look for something that's in that bit of added code).

              Well,
              I've been into the design, library, layouts and done a search and removed all aspects of the statcounter that i could find.
              Refreshed the website and had a look - still the same.
              The problem seems to be with the script file. However, i have input a load of information over the last few days so don't wish to go back to an earlier backup!

              Any further suggestions guys/girls, or is it a case of sending a snapshot to Actinic for them to grasp the problem!

              My MD is not going to be rather happy with me if i ca't resolve this problem (we haven't gone live yet!)

                Did you also get rid of temporary internet files on your PC to be sure you are not viewing a cached page? Does the ISP you are using cache pages?

                  Hi,

                  Our ISP is Demon (for our sins)
                  I've done a ctrl F5 to clear the cache - actually working from home now so the problem is not a cache thing - it's some coding somewhere that insists in hiding itself!

                  (the wonders of remote log-in to your pc at works pc - although it's a bit slower!)

                  I'm wondering if i should copy the original scripts (from the "original site" folder) to see if that clears the problem.

                  I'm convinced it's a script file somewhere that hasn't been refreshed with a website refresh

                  Or am i barking up the wrong tree!

                  Appreciate your help on this!

                  Regards

                    If there was no other code modification in the scripts, then that could be a good solution.

                      Hmm

                      Replaced the script file that i though wat causing the problem (ca00001.pl)
                      Still the same

                      I'm beginning to think i've really mucked up!
                      Here comes a good few days of replacing the data.

                      P45 time will be arriving soon!!

                        It doesn't do it for me.

                        Try deleting the actinic cookie on your PC and see if that fixes it. You might have a corrupted cookie/session file that has the wrong referrer info in it.

                          I looked at www.elitex.co.uk and couldn't see any reference to statcounter.com in product or cart pages (or their source).

                          What does this code look like?

                              Hiya,

                              on doing a compare script pear, i get the following....

                              The following files have been changed as compared to Actinic Originals.

                              Missing -> ActinicAddressBook.pm
                              Missing -> ACTINIC.pm
                              Missing -> AccountsScript.pl

                              Time has beaten me tonight as i've got to get up for work early, and i fear if i spend any more time on this tonight the damn pc will go out the window!

                              Thanks so far for your efforts - if you feel that you can assist any further, i'll pick up the pieces tomorrow am!

                              Cheers for the help - much appreciated

                              Night for now!
