We can't create our own lists or am I missing something?

Hi

I want to create a bunch of related variables and then loop through them. I thought that the new lists layout type would be the way to do this - but when you go to create a new layout type and select list - it only lets you select from the predefined list types? Or am I missing something?

I'm gonna do this using imbedded php now now that I've found this in the help section - so I don't need a solution - just wondered if there was a more built in way (which would be more useful for people that don't know PHP)

There's no way to create new types of list in Actinic. What you can do though is take an existing list type (e.g. choices) and use those to create a list of features of a product. You can edit the layout of the choices within the list to lay them out however you want.
