    Cookie Name

    Probably a daft question, but how do I establish the name of the cookie for any given site.
    I know that they are generated automatically for each website.
    What I don't know is what is the name that I should be checking for when reading the Apache log files in my stats analyser program, (Mach 5 Pro).

      Everybody is probably wondering what sort of stats programme records cookies.

      Normally the cookie is placed on the customer's hard disk browser cache by the website.

        As far as I know the cookie name is of the form:
        Cookie:UserName@URL
        For example:
        Cookie:FredBloggs@bbc.co.uk

        You can see this by looking at your cookies in IE for example.

          Apache can be set to record cookie activity in the raw log files.
          Using "Mach 5 Stats Analyser" it is then possible to track specific groups of visitors through the site.
          You can also set up "Scenarios" which can look at particular tracks through the site and analyse anomolies.
          Not least, it is possible to accurately esablish the behavior of "Return" visitors.
          All this information is invaluable in understanding your site, especially so when tracking performance of promotions and campaigns.

            Thanks Duncan.
            I was hoping that there was a generic name.
            For example Session() or Global()
