Add To Cart Button - product pages

    Hi All,

Got a bit of a problem with the add to cart graphic that appears on my product pages, as having fiddled with theme colours etc the button has ended up as a nasty white box that is barely recognisable as an 'add to cart button' - is it posible to replace this with a gif or failing that, is there any way to change the appearance of it without upsetting other fields affected by the colours specified in the themes?

an example of the problem can be seen here http://www.evertonfcdvds.com/acatalog/New_Products.html

    ...

sorry to hassle, but got a deadline I need to make and as I am not overly familiar with the inner workings of actinic, I was hoping somebody might be able to help me, as I am sure that there must be a simple solution to this.

I've had a little look around the settings in the Design Library and have come to the conclusion that it may be something to do with either the 'Add to cart button' layout or 'Shopping Cart button' layout but I'm struggling to know what needs to be done - any ideas would be welcome...

    Cheers,

    Dan

Create a graphic which is to your liking and use this instead of the standard one, you can then have it as you wish with no effect on anything else.

The design for that particular button is controlled in the css file - add_to_cart_button or similar. You can fix the colours there

          thanks...

...now for the simple solution (I hope) How do you integrate this edit into Actinic?

Ive found the offending file and have attempted to change the colour in both GoLive and Dreamweaver, which both appear to work. The problem is that I dont know how to keep these changes as whenever I upload in actinic, the file is replaced with the old version.

Ive searched the forum but cant find any specific mention of this.

          Cheers,

          Dan

. WRONG - do the changes in Actinic otherwise they will be overwritten.

thanks for pointing out the fact that css files can only be changed in actinic, but can you please point me in the direction of where I find the files in actinic so that they can be edited...?

                Thanks,

                Dan

Use the design tab and select Actinic CSS from the dropdown list.

apologies for being a bit dim but there is no 'Actinic CSS' option in the design tab (not that I can see anyway).

I have tried changing the font colour in Design > Layouts > Add to Cart Button and selecting font colour etc but nothing seems to change

Is there any way of changing this to a graphic instead as this is doing my head in!

                    Thanks,

                    Dan

Its in the select Page Type option - Actinic StyleSheet

Right, getting there - I couldnt find the StyleSheet selector initially as it had disappeared - had to go to Window > Restore Initial View Layout to make it reappear.

Problem now is that I have managed to change the colour but the following appears next to the cart icon: <span style=

Any ideas how I can restore this??

                        Thanks,

                        Dan

sorted thanks - I'd tried to insert a colour variable rather than link it to a pallette colour.

Cheers for the help with that one
