      Many thanks

But, if I import a snapshot, do the orders go to a database that I could possibly copy and paste into my new shop? Sorry but the shop is hosted on a server 59 miles away. Or I could always drive over...

          ok ....

Right.. You have a snapshop > within the snapshot you have your orders > you go to sites - activate new site - import the snapshot you have created > are the orders in a particular folder e.g. a folder called [these_are_where_the_orders_are] ?? so I can copy and paste them over the new shop I have created? if not no worries I will drive all the way over to Nottingham and redo the snapshot... ie the snapshot I have has everything in it but the old looking shop design

ok I am going on .... thanks for any help

the site snapshot conations all orders, the complete catalog with pages images etc

to import the order you should take a snapshot on the pc that holds the orders now

then using the import facility import the order onto the new pc that you want the orders to be on

if we aren't understanding the question maybe you could rephrase it.

Both Dave and I are suggesting the same thing, which is probably the correct answer to the question we are both perceiving.

At a risk of repeating the incorrect answer, there are 2 ways to import orders

1 with an import file of orders - the import file is generated from the PCthat contains the orders (8.03)
2 from a snapshot again where the snapshot is taken from the pc that holds the orders.

Orders are then added to the database and can be seen on the orders tab.

If you don't have either of these ie import file or snapshot, then yes get in your car and drive to whereever to take a snapshot.

I suspect your snapshot does contain orders, snapshots by default inc orders if they are on the PC taking the snapshot. I expect you simply didn't see the option that pops up when you imported the snapshot "Overwrite Orders on target installation" the answer to this should have been YES. If you had answered yes when you imported your original snapshot you would be able to see the orders

                        well ....

Open the old version 7 and ensure the old site has been imported.

File > Import Orders (this is in version 8) > A pop up box opens with a browse option and 4 tick boxes > browse to your shop in version 7 and find the file actiniccatalog.mdb > click save (or open) use the tick boxes to what ever you want ie 'Customer Accounts' > click the 'go' (or whatever it is called) button

Sorted - easy when you know how .. but thanks for replying. It was kinda frustrating me not knowing how to ask the question - in case u couldn't tell
