    SSL shared Certificate Question

Hi I have set my site to use SSL shared certificate on my host server which works fine however there is always a pop up info box saying

There is a problem with the sites security certificate

1 The security certificate is a trusted certifying authority

    2. The security certificate is valid

    3. the name on the certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site

It then asks if you want proceed

I presume this happens evertime you use a shared SSL certificate ?? Is this normal ?? Is there a way round this or do i need to buy my own unique certificate ?? because i think this popping up box with this message may put off buyers at this point.

    Your thoughts Please

    Keith

    Hi Keith

I presume this happens evertime you use a shared SSL certificate ??
Yes this is correct, and to remove that message you may need to get a dedicated certificate, rather than a shared one. You may want to contact your hosting company regarding this and see if they can help you.

        Hi Keith

I use a company called Reyaltec to host the Actinic sites I (and another designer) have designed. We worked out how to host an Actinic site using a shared SSL Certificate on Reyaltec's servers without getting warnings etc when we worked with Actinic v6, and we are now using v8.

The people that work there are really helpful and now know exactly what to do when you want to host an Actinic site.

        Hope this helps
