Price updates

Hi,
Can anyone help me please?
I have a series of products each with components linking to products, eg different size or colour options. Each of these main products is duplicated into another section. ie the manufacturer of that product. Now when I try to reimport the products to update pricing I get the error message

Line ??: A product with this reference already exist in another section

and the product is not updated. Can anyone please advise the corect proceedure for updating prices.
(by the way I use a spreadsheet to convert to actinic format before I upload)

You only need to update the price on the main product (and it's components if applicable), this will automatically be passed onto the duplicates.

Thanks for that. That is what i assumed. However it is still giving the error message that it is in another section

What format are you product references?
Are you choosing to update or replace your feed when you import it?

The product references are the id fields for your products, if yours are greyed out then you are using autogenerated references.

I'm not sure what is happening with your import, sorry.

It might be worth making a version of your import file with just one or two products in it and posting that in here for us to take a look at.

Ok, I think I can define the problem a bit better now.
I have my prices in a spreadsheet which I convert suitable for Actinic. I have updated a few issues withthat and it is now OK. But.....

I have a diving fin that comes in say, 3 sizes. When i set it all up I imported all the products I wanted into the system. If we take this example. Obviously I did not want to display this product 3 times so I copied one product gave it my own reference number. I then set up options/attributes for size. Through the Options | Permutations tab I linked each size to the relevant product and under the pricing section checked "override pricing" I then made each individual product invisible on the web

I have also created a variable called RRP that is displayed on my site www.sussexscuba.co.uk. Now when I update the prices of each of the individual preices (all sizes cost the same) the individul products update Ok but the created produst that is displayed on the web is not updated. Hopefully that is clearer and there is an easy way to deal with this.

Hi Derek

Like Jan has previous mentioned if you have a small sample for us to take a look at, we could see where it is going wrong. From what you have written, it should work, but we need to see a sample of it going wrong.
