The short description of the product must not be blank

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to this, hence this newbie question

I just tried to import my first CSV stock list but I get some errors.

--------------------------------------

Line 2: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 3: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 4: The short description of the product must not be blank.


Can someone tell me how to disable the short description field so I get some stock into the site?

You need a short description, how else are you going to name your products.

do you havethe short description somewhere else just not called short description. ie product name?

Hi Paul
The short description field is what defines the product (eg a book title or 'pair of shoes'). After product ref, it is probably the next most important field, so you can't expect to create a product without it.
Your csv file probably has the data required for the short description field, but you need to make sure that you have it mapped when importing.

If you just want to create new products without data, simply add them via the product tree instead.

Yes I found that the Excel sheet I was using had Product Name as the Short Description tag.
