    Login Page Cannot Be Changed!

I Have Tried Changing The Appearance Of The Login Page For My Version Of Actinic; 8.04 . . . Using Dreamweaver. It Does Not Want To Work. I Also Tried Going Through The Many Themes Offered In The Program And Nothing Works With My Logo. It's Getting Frustrating. I Am Used To Simply Making Changes In Version 7 And Uploading. I Can't Seem To Do That With 8! Can You Please Get Back To Me With Some Advise. I Really Have Only This Issue That Needs To Be Resolved. Thank You, Mark T

      What I've done so far . . .

At this point, I have used the "curves" schematic as a back-drop, deleting or commenting out elements of the design that do not reflect the look that I am seeking.

I have found the act_login page in the Site1 folder and attempted to manipulate it using Dreamweaver. I have attempted making the changes "stick" using Dreamweaver alone AND with the Actinic Add-on. Neither way seems to get me far enough. Either the element that I want to add cannot be placed, or the element that I want to eliminate can't be removed.

I want to do 2 things, 1 involving the toplevelsection (i think) and the other involving the cart section on the left of the page layout. At this time, the toplevelsection is NOT showing ANY icons/buttons. I would like to add 2 text links: "Contact Us" and "View Cart". They were there in the Version 7 that I had replaced, but, are not now showing and I can't seem to make them show using the "themes" portion of version 8.

The second thing that I would like to do is remove the orange cart box and quick search from the login page. I have removed the quick search box, but it also removed it from the rest of the pages in the site. If you look at the login page at www.truetape.com/acatalog, you can see the orange cart box on the left-hand side. To see the remainder of the site, you can enter using "Skoochie" as a username and "testtest" as a password.

I don't think what I am seeking would be too hard for someone a bit more knowledgable about how to change design elements in version 8. i am a quick learner (so far), and can follow some instructions, but just can't seem to get these little things pinned down.

I appreciate your response and look forward to your help/advise.

I'd get hold of the getting started guide for V8 and other how to design docs written specifically for V8.

as you can see V8 is a different animal, any knowledge you have of v7 will hinder you rather than help.

          Steep learning curve . . .

Thank you for your response and following this post. I am making progress, albeit slower than i would have liked. I do have the login page looking the way that i would like (optimized for 1024 screen setting). I have only 2 more items to finish before i am done. I have to remove the sidebar from the emailform which will also remove the view cart and I have to add the quicksearch to the rest of the site. I've given up on the links at the top of the toplevelsection (at least at this point). The site is functional, although not optimally. I will keep working at it - i think i'm getting the hang of it, thankfully.
