Section Specific Best Sellers List

I am trying to set the best sellers list so it only lists products that are specific to a certain part of the catalogue.

I envision having my shop seperated in different areas (eg. Manuka Honey, Propolis, Pollen etc).

Each of these main areas will have several different sub-sections.

For example:
The Manuka Honey section will have 6 sub sections. The first 5 sub sections will contain only information. The 6th sub section will list the Manuka Honey Products available.

I would like to set the Best Sellers list so that up to 3 Manuka Products show in the Manuka Section, including all sub section pages.

I have followed the advice in this thread: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=23848

I can get this to work, however in one section only - either the section containing the product, or its parent section. But not any of the other sub section (ie. it's sister sub sections).

Am I making any sense? Sorry I'm working offline at the moment so can't show an example.

The essence of the question is that I would like to show Best Sellers specific to main sections of the site - including on the sub section pages.
