Pricing by the metre - non integer values

Hi

I am building a catalogue to sell windows, doors and conservatories where some of the items are priced per metre (or in the case of glazing, in square metres). The quantities required are often non integer values such as 2.5 metres of box gutters.

I have considered using component choices for each of the possible sizes but I was hoping that there would be a simpler solution - there is a large range of windows each with a large choice of sizes.
