Opps, got too confident. Can you help

    Hello all,
I have a 'friend' (V8 user, new to Actinic he tells me...) who was making good progress all day yesterday, before stopping for dinner and couple of glasses of red. Nothing on TV so he decides to continue his efforts. He knows nothing about html but encouraged by Tesco's Finest decides he can make a couple of changes to the html on the 'mini best sellers layout' and the 'mini new products item'. Surprisinging (?) he messed things up the best seller code and, in using the new product code as a reference, managed to mess that up too.

Is there anyone who could 'help my friend' replace the missing code? I was (sorry he was) trying to (i) make the image clickable and (ii) use the thumbnail picture (both mods from the advanced guide). He tried going back but things got worse. In a perfect world he'd like the full section of code (15 lines?) so he can just replace the mess he created. Nothing else seems impacted. He also asked if the code is exactly the same for both the 'new product' and 'best seller' sections?

If there is a way I (he!) can get the code himself (from his initial CD for example) he'll do that, but wasn't sure where to start. Many thanks from my friend....

I will ensure he learns from his error......

Have you tried "reverting the layout back to factory settings" and then redoing whatever was done previously. the revert will return it back to how it was out of the box.

In the future, before any changes are made to layouts, always take a snapshot as you can completely cock it up, but still get it back within 2 minutes.

Hi Lee - Cheers. I didn't know that was an option. I'll read-up on how to do that. What a forum! Thanks

Just find the offending elements in the Library, then right-click them and you're given that option.

Thanks Norman (And Chris). All back as intended! I feel bad having to ask questions like this as they seem so basic once you know the answer. The software seems so good & easy I've found myself with a half-decent site without ever attending a lecture or having proper training. I'm grateful to you guys.
