Component Oddity - Buglet?

If I configure a component with attributes and choices that are tied to other products I can select that the choice is on a separate order line. When I test this online it works fine and in the cart I can see the extra product and the price is updated to include the price of the choice product also. Just what you'd expect.

However, now if I now copy that component to another product where I want to have the same choices then the 'Component As Separate Order Line' selection (and text) is not shown on the component General tab. On testing the product, the extra product no longer has a separate order line in the cart (although it is shown on the same line) and the price is not added on either. The original product (where the component was copied from) still continues to work correctly.

This is repeatable every time a component is copied.

Is it just me or is this a bug?

I tested this further. I created just one product with the component and attributes etc that I wanted to use on other products as well. I then exported the database copied the relevant sections in the hierarchial file and inported. The same problem; the first manually created component works, the others experience the problem.

I also tried manually creating the same component setup on two products (instead of copying or importing) and in this case both products work fine.

Issue is I have about 200+ products that I want the same component setup on - I don't want to have manually create all those!

Actinic Support - any ideas please?

have you tried an export (adapt the generated file) and then inport ?

all the component details would / could be together so copying outside of actinic could be quick

not sure if its going to produce the desired result??

Yes tried this - created one good working set then exported, copied into other products (in text editor) and imported. Same issue unfortunately.

Hi Duncan

What's happening is that the 'Pricing Model' of the product that you copying the component to is set to 'Product Price' by default. With this option, the 'Component as Separate Order Line' checkbox is not available within the 'General' tab of the component. In order to make this available, you need to set the 'Pricing Model' of the product to 'Sum of Product and Component Prices'.

Thanks Chris that works. I have to import or copy the components over and then afterwards change the Pricing Model as this doesn't appear in the export/import.
Another one off my list of to-dos.
