    free & charged delivery

    Hi,

I have a question about postage. If a customer spends over a certain amount, then they will get delivery free. For example,

Spend over £25, get free 3-day delivery (worth 3.95)
Spend over £50, get free next day delivery (worth 5.95)

In addition to this, I would like to make it intelligent, e.g. if the customer has spent over 25.00 (and therefore getting free 3-day delivery), I would like to offer them the upgrade to next day for 2.00 rather than the full 5.95.

Is this possible? (either as standard or with a little help from java?).

    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi,

I think you can do what you want in Actinic by doing the following in your 'Settings | Business Settings | Shipping & Handling' tab

    - set the 'Calculation Basis' to 'Total Value'
    - create a class for '3-day delivery'
    - in the grid on the right, enter the following:

    Value............Cost
    £25.00..........£3.95
    £25.01..........£0.00

Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

    - then create a class for 'next day delivery'
    - in the grid on the right, enter the following:

    Value............Cost
    £25.00..........£5.95
    £50.00..........£2.00
    £50.01..........£0.00

Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table.

This will mean that if a customer spends up to £25 they will get options of:
3- day delivery at £3.95 and next day delivery at £5.95

If they spend between £25 and £50 they will get options of:
3- day delivery at £0.00 and next day delivery at £2.00

If they spend over £50 they will get options of:
3- day delivery at £0.00 and next day delivery at £0.00

    I hope this helps.
