    Secure Trading transaction No

Does anyone else use Secure Trading as their PSP?

If you do, do you use the transaction No?

We do and would like it to appear on the Data Entry Report.

It seems strange that Actinic gets the information from Secure Trading about the payment status, the auth code etc but it does not show the transction number.

Is it possible to get the transaction number to appear?

I've had a look through Design|text.... and found an entry for PSP Reference which has a prompt of PSP Prov Ref.

Does anyone know what this is supposed to display?
Knowing my luck it should display the Transaction number but isn't for some bizarre reason, probably cos my name's Mike and it's Thursday....

If it did display the transaction reference, yippee my work is almost done!!

In Payments.csv (exported report) there is a field called OCC Provider Ref which, I believe should contain the PSP transaction reference number but this field is empty. How do I get this info?

          Hi Mike,

If you take a look at the bottom of the report under 'Payments', there is a 'PSP Prov. Ref' column and this displays the number that goes in 'Progress & Payments | View Payments | PSP Provder Ref' field. Is that what you wanted?

No, not quite, that button (view payments) is disabled in our Actinic as we are by-passing processing.

Currently we are using E**l as our webshop software and when we download the orders they contain the Secure Trading Transaction Number. This number does not appear on any of the order reports within Actinic.

I was wondering whether there was any way of configuring Actinic to include this number in, at least, the Data Entry Report.

I've just enabled payment processing to take a look at 'Progress & Payments | View Payments | PSP Provder Ref' field.

It may be that this is the field we require but it is still a greyed out box.

As a matter of interest is there a description anywhere of what this is?

also, I've been trawling through the Actinic help and stumbled across this:

              CC Auth Code
              Credit card authorization code

              OCC Provider Ref
              PSP transaction reference number

              Customer Ref
Code from the PSP that refers to the customer

              OCC Provider Response
Used for a variety of reasons, depending on which PSP you choose

These are all fields within the Payments File (normally payments.csv)

OCC Provider Ref is the one that we DESPERATELY need to appear either on the Data Entry Report or in the payments export file. We currently use the PSP Transaction reference No to complete our accounts in house. Unfortunatley if I export these reports this field is still empty.

              Can anyone help??

                Hi,

As a matter of interest is there a description anywhere of what this is?
                Our help files state:
                PSP Provider Ref
The PSP's reference number for the transaction. You will need to quote this if you have any questions for the PSP.

Basically, it is brought in automatically when a PSP order is downloaded. As you are bypassing Catalog order processing it looks like that information is not completed. I will ask our development team if it is possible to get that information on the data entry report.

I will enable Order Processing for today and do some test orders to see if anything appears.

If it were the caser that the Transaction Refererence is not being included purely because order processing is off then I guess it would be considered a bug as this reference is a requirement regardles of the method of order processing.

I have also been in contact with Secure Trading to see what they say, reply below:

                  Hi Mike,

Can you demontrate this with an email from Actinic or screen shot? You should get the email from SecureTrading which will have the same orderref and the transaction ref you are looking for.

I believe the issue you have is actually with the Actinic software, but i've asked one of our developers to look into it for us.

To help you the field you are trying to get into Actinic is called streference

If you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact us

We'll get to the bottom of this!!!

                    Hi Mike,

I've done some testing without 'order bypassing' switched on and when I download the order that field is still empty. I don't know if that is just because I have Secure Trading in test mode or not. I have put this to our development team to find out what is supposed to happen and whether we can get the number on the data entry report for you.

I've had a reply from Secure Trading which sort of makes sense:

The SecureTrading to Actinic callback doesn't populate the PSP Provider Ref field, the reason for this is that the Actinic reference is instead stored on our systems.

I find this a tad strange in that there is an Actinic field/variable available for this and, indeed the transaction reference appears in our current order downloads using E*ol so there is a calback facility available.

It would be nice if this was an easy fix.

Another reply from Secure Trading which makes sense:
                        Dear Mike,

The reason that the PSP Provider Ref field isn't populated is because the ST reference isn't sent over when the SecureTrading systems runs the callback. uses the standard callback system where the fields and receiving address are configurable and so as an option the ST reference can be placed in there. The Actinic callback cannot use the standard callback and so uses a separate Actinic callback, the fields aren't configurable with this and the ST reference isn't sent back as the Actinic reference is stored in the orderref field on the SecureTrading systems and is sent back instead.

                        Hmm

                          Hi,

I'm afraid that if they don't send the information back then we can't add it to the data entry reports. All I can do is to add it to the wish list for now.

We've had complete explaination from both yourselves and Secure Trading in that basically, it isn't going to happen.

Secure Trading are developing a new system so they won't be altering anything in the current version and actinic doesn't use the standard callback which would include the PSP ref.

So, as far as that one is concerned we are stumped.
Fortunately I have managed to convince the sales team that they will need to change the way they do things :-)

Whatever, thanks for your help Tracey, the problem is still there but the cause is very clear now.

                            Issue Closed (I hope!!)
