Long time to update

On version 8 it takes a very long time to update the website (about 15 minutes). I need to do this every 1 or 2 hours to keep my stock as near the reality as possible. Is there a way to update only the stock level ?Thanks

Didier,

There is no way to update only stock levels at the moment. There are a few things you can try to make the process speedier...

1) Compact your database on a regular basis
2) Choose not to upload unchanged images and DD files
3) Check the speed of your internet connection

Ok I will do. What must I modify to prevent from uploading unchanged images and DD files ?
I don't think that the speed connection can solve my problem : the main time is not to send the files but is for checking html pages and checking catalog. Is there a way to ask windows to limit the memory size dedicated to Actinic during this process ?

Didier,

Unfortunately, you cannot ask windows to limit memory usage. Actinic v8 is quite the BIG brother of v7 and requires 512 MB RAM to operate efficiently.

When you do an update you do not get the option, but when doing a complete refresh of the site you get the option to 'Exclude unchanged image and digital download files'.

Ok I will try to increase the memory size. Now it is 1 Go, and I have also the invoice software on the same computer.
And I do update, very rarely refresh. I will check and advise.

I find it takes ages to check html pages too, as a result i do most of my initial design work using the default product set, before bringing the real product data into the site.

Using now version 8.5.1 : I think there is a real progress, checking html is really shorter and update time seems to be reduce in a significative way !

Having just purchased several machines and have v8.5.0 and v8.5.1 running in different places the most noticeable combination for increasing the speed is via the dual core machine (this has less RAM than the single core)... prior to that sticking extra RAM in the single core made a massive amount of difference.
