Discounts Not showing up for Duplicates

We have a product (Battery) which offers a discount on another product (Battery Tester), we have created duplicates of this product throughout the site and all is fine.

I have now added another discount to the first master product (Battery) item offering a discount against a different product (Battery Charger), the idea being that if you buy the battery you can get a discount for both the Tester and the charger.

This has worked fine for the master product (Battery) but doesn't seem to have migrated down to the duplicates.

I'm sure I can fix it buy updating the duplicate and changing the description back to reflect the different info shown by the duplicte, but shouldn't this just happen.

The duplicate does show the second discount in the "Discounts" tab, but this doesn't come through to a web preview or the web site.

I have looked at both links and cannot see what you mean, both have the respective links and appear identical to each other. If you sorted the issue please do let us know.

I managed to sort this last night, as I suspected a refresh of the duplicate did indeed fix the problem and the duplicates seem to be updating themselves as expected now.

Perhaps it was just the fact that when the duplicates were created there were no discounts applied.

Hi - I have also got this problem.

I have added a discount to a product that already has a duplicate.

The discount is displayed correcty in the preview pane and browser for the original product.

The discount is not displayed in the preview pane or browser for the duplicate product. The discount is displayed in the discounts tab.

The only way I have been able to correct this is to delete the duplicate and to create a new duplicate. This is a workaround - if it is a bug, a fix would be appreciated.

It looks like this might be workign as designed. The reason I say this is because on the duplicate there is a "Reset" button and similarly on the original product there is "Reset Duplicates" button, clicking on either of them refreshes the duplicate .

Hi Kiran,

Except you can change all the description and title of the duplicate which would all be wiped out if you reset it, and I expect the discoounts would be as valid for the duplicate as they are for the original.

Support have in fact confirmed this to be a bug which has aparently been fixed in 8.5, tough I have not yet updated to this version to verify it myself.

It was a little while ago now, but I think I actually had to remove the duplicate and recreate it, not just refresh it, but my memory could be letting me down on this!
