    Custom cgi links

Is there any issue adding your own queries onto the end of cgi links? For instance adding:-

    ?LINK=TOP10

    onto the end of

    http://www.mydomain.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss...099A&NOLOGIN=1

I'd like to see if I can track usage of certain elements of the site.
    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

It has never been done like this. Most people track scripts / script calls via a stats package. If you append something on the script to do a function which is wasn't intended for then it may bring up side effects.

I have passed it to development anyway to see what they have to say about it. Will update once they get back to me.

Try it and see. Only don't put

      ?LINK=TOP10

as there's already a query string "?" there.

      Use

      &LINK=TOP10

      instead.
