Links dont respond

Not sure if anyone can help, but i'm having a problem were some links I click on within my site dont respond. The page will try and load then will display done in the browser with out doing anying.

For example if I click on the add to basket button for a product it sometimes does not do anything will have to clickit 2-3 times before it adds the product.

This is not always the case, it some times works fine.

Any ideas?

Could well be a server issue - does the time taken vary depending on the time of day or day of week?

Due the profile of the client I'm building this site I can't post the URL as it is still on our staging servers.

Doing somemore testing it only seems happen in IE7. Firefox seems to handle it alot better.

Certainly seems server side related. As if the perl's not executing properly. Do other calls such as quicksearch work ok?

We dont have a quick search field. But it does happen on the Contact us page when you click send.
