Upgrading from V5 to V8

Has anyone upgraded from V5 to V8 Business?
Would it be advisable to upgrade to an intermediate version first?

Should make no difference. You can test it without shutting down your V7 site as V8 instals separately.

I'd try a straight import into 8 first. If it doesn't go well then yes go 5 to 7 and then 8.

Out of the box v8 does not support a v5 import. But there's nothing to stop you from trying. I've done a 5 to 8 and it did not go at all well

Thanks for the good advice.
I now have V8 and a copy of V7 as an intermediate upgrade.

I see there is a guide for upgrading from V6/V7 to V8, but is there a guide for upgrading from V5 to V6/V7?

Also would I be more likely to have a trouble free upgrade if I went from V5 to V6 to V7, and then to V8? Or is that a bit over the top! I just want to get this done with the least disruption.
