Actinic failing to see a PayPal payment

    Hi

I just had an e-mail from a customer to ask where their package was. Turns out their order was still in the Pending Payment Service Provider folder. They had paid using PayPal, and their payment - when I had a look at my PayPal account - had come through on the same date that they placed the order - Jan 5th. Somehow Actinic had failed to pick up on this.

I have noticed a problem when people use an eCheque with PayPal and payment takes a week or so to arrive. Actinic does not seem to see these payments arriving either.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to prevent these payments slipping through the net?

Actinic does not go back and check pending payments - the only thing you can do is monitor the orders on the PSP Pending tab and check them manually on your Paypal/PSP interface.

I always set paypal to send a reciept copy so every time you get one you know you have had an order and can look for it.

it could be your host and the firewall they use not letting paypal through

I get the e-mail acknowledgement from PayPal. And I have learnt that the delayed eCheques need me to process the payment manually, but it was the Jan 5th payment that worried me. Customer placed the order on the 5th, and the payment from PayPal came through on the 5th, i.e. not an eCheque, so I am not sure why Actinic missed it.

If I were to go over to the Mole End One Stop Order Processing software, which I am tempted by, I guess there is still a process of sifting through things manually to make sure that nothing has been missed.
