Importing products from supplier

Hi all,

Can anybody clarify this is possible.

My supplier uses actinic and all the products on their site we too will be selling as they supply us as a wholesaler.

Is it possible for them to send us a .CSV file (hierachy file) and then we can simply update our own (hierachy) file by importing it and using the update option.

I have tried this with my own site using data in a .csv file from a previous back up and it worked it simply updated my site.

If this is possible it could save hours and hours of work providing the supplier agrees of course.

Im sure it can be done from my own tests but can anybody tell me if they have tried this or have any knowledge regarding this matter

This should work fine but bear in mind though that SEs do not like duplicated content. Ideally you should modify your descriptions etc to be different. Also that the the hierarchial file will also contain all fragments etc so you may wish to do some pruning before importing.
