    General Script Error

    Hi

I'm getting the following error when hitting the 'add to cart' button:

    A General Script Error Occurred

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: Error opening configuration file ../acatalog/A0003.cat. No such file or directory

I have tried all the usual fixes Troubleshooting | Purge & Refresh etc but the problem still persists. It is the same for all 6 products thus far input into the site.

    The site url is:

    http://www.lovetrilogy.co.uk

Following any of the six products on the main page will give this error with only a changed .cat number.

Any help, much appreciated, it is really doing my head in

    Regards

Wipe the server using ftp - leave the cgi_bin folder intact but empty the contents and refresh the website.

If you have cover from Actinic call them.

if ruralwebs solution does not work, delete the .cat files from both the server and site1 then refresh.

cat files are generated during refresh thus if you delete both sets (local and remote) it will cause them all to be recreated

        Not generating cat files

        Hi

Thanks for the suggestions, but neither have worked.

What seems to be happening is that Actinic is failing to create the .cat files that go with the products. It is generating:

        A000.cat
        A0000.cat
        A0001.cat
        A0002.cat
        A0004.cat
        A0005.cat

Which I think may relate to the original default products you get with Actinic to show you how products can be configured.

But it is not creating the .cat files for any of the products I have input:

        A0003.cat
        A0006.cat
        A0007.cat
        A0008.cat
        A0009.cat
        A00010.cat

It's very frustrating as my client will not purchase Actinic until he sees it working properly, but then I am left without access to quality support.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

        Regards

Pardon? Why would the client's purchase/non purchase affect your support for your copy of the software?

I hate to ask because I see you have been on the fringes of Actinic for a number of years, but you did tick the 'can be purchased online' box to enable generation, didn't you?

            Can be ordered onlione box

            Excuse moi,

Yes, the 'can be ordered online' box is ticked.

With regards to the support issue, I am a developer for clients. It is my clients who purchase Actinic, and at present this particular client is investigating whether or not to purchase Actinic 8, so I am running Actinic 8 on a 30 day trial to show him what it can do, and how his design might look. The 30 day trial scenario does not afford me the usual phone support.

If I can get this sorted out my client will purchase a multi-site licence, but I need to be able to show them the cart/checkout process.

'i would compact the database and try again'

I've just compacted the database and done a site refresh, no change I'm afraid.

In case you were not aware, if you are evaluating the software you are entitled to phone support during the 30 days. Make sure to mention it and give the date of download when you call support.

                  Kind regards,

Successful Solution from Actinic by email

                    Hi All

Thanks for your input but Actinic have just emailed me the solution, which relates to me switching off the 'Include in Sitemap' choice on Section Pages.

See email below, and well done Actinic support for sorting this out in under 24 hours

                    Hi,

Error: Error opening configuration file ../acatalog/A0008.cat. No such
                    file or directory

Please go to each section and tick the option 'Include in Site Map' and click 'Apply Changes'.

It is unfortunately a known issue whereby the category file is not generated when this option is not selected.

                    Kind Regards,
                    G.W.Green
