    Actinic courses

Are the Actinic courses worth while attending, i do have a slight bit of knowledge but their is so much to learn and adapt to on Actinic software. That i find somethings well above my head.

I know they are quite expensive just wondering if its worth the money.

    cheers

I think you get a days training with the support package. For a years support and a training day, i would not call it expensive personally. It all depends on how you intend to use Actinic in the future, do you like getting stuck in or would you prefer to pay a developer to do it for you.

There are a few seasoned developers who have attended and they have never said anything bad about the courses (from what i have heard). If you are going so that you can build a one off site, it may be more cost effective and time effective to pay someone to do it for you.

I'll have to agree with Lee, one of site.. there is not need but if your running a long term website with various updates through out the day (like what I am doing), etc it will benefit you. Personally I have not attended an Actinic course but they seem to be a good and worth while.

Back to work as they say.

I attended the design course when v8 first launched. It was well worth the day as it made everything click together for me. I have used Actinic from v6 so know my way around it reasonably well but v8 was a whole new ball game. Having the guys who actually built the program demonstrate the concepts and the underlaying principles was great - it certainly turned the light on for me and it made a whole lot more sense.

Others on the course had a range of knowledge and experience and I can safely say all would recommend it as a worthwhile investment.

Plus you get to see Darren scoff his way through a box of biscuits

Well worth the cash - they will save you that in time and lost hair alone. I attended the second or third run and as jont says it puts things in place and lets you question the guys who designed it.

I would suggest having a play with the software first so you can understand the basic ideas.
