            Setting up

            Sorry me again.
Do I create the sheet as discussed and then remove the header once I have input the product details, and save it as a CSV file.
            Thanks.

If you remove the header, it would be impossible for actinic to know what is contained in each column, so no.

Put 5 headers right at the top of the page and list things underneath them, exactly as a normal spreadsheet would be done. In fact the spreadsheets your suppliers have provided will be almost perfect and how you need to do it.

                  Part Number

                  Hi AGAIN,
Really sorry to pester you again.
I see how this will work, however how does this work when there is no item/part number?
Also the same goes for stock quantities etc.
Or is it a case of manually inputting details into each and every item afterwards.
                  Cheers.

If you want to include stock monitoring than you can add the field if you like, with B&M store and no way of monitoring what you sell there, its pointless having stock control as it will soon be incorrect.

If the part number has no name, then it doesnt exist surely? anything that exists can be named in someway. It can be called anything you like.

Take a look at the first link in my signature.

                      Part Number

                      Hi Lee,
Sorry, what I meant is to have a part number included do I simply include this as another field.
Not sure what you mean when you say B&M.
Again sorry to be a pain.
                      Cheers.

A part number should be the short description as this is what people will search for. The full description will then explain what it is. Or you can do part number + description i.e. PKZ1005 - Parkzone Mustang blah blah.

                        B&M = Bricks and Mortar i.e. a shop on a street.

As i said take a look at the link i mentioned, typical example for you.

Take a look through the spares sections and you will see that its quite simple, you seem to be getting in a fluster.

                          Fluster

                          Hi Lee,
                          Thanks.
I was getting a bit confused, I think I have my head around it now.
Am I correct in thinking the section name is populated by the appropriate section name i.e. planes, cars, flight batteries (some of the sections I am using)?
May be that I am a bit thick I but I just want to get it right first time if possible.
Will I need to create the Reference number to have the reference (part number) populated.
                          Thanks.

                            For reference

                            Hi all just for reference,
Actinic are soon to release epos software that will link to actinic e commerce so those of us who have a retail outlet can have live stock levels on our website with the new version of actinic epos.
                            Cheers.

The reference number is automatically created by actinic, you do not need to do anything. I assure you that what i have said is all that you need to do and it will keep it very simple, until you get a bit more confident.

If you want to import them into separate sections and you are happy doing that, then go ahead. I have always imported into a dummy section and then moved the products around as i liked.

On import i keep away from existing sections, i import into a dummy section and then manipulate to suit. Thats how im comfortable doing it, you must find your own way.
