How to break link between outer layouts?

    Hi Guys,
Probably stupid but I'm sure someones got the quick answer.
I'm trying to create mutiple pae layouts (outer) based on a layout I created in Dreamweaver for the www.reelfishing.co.uk site (thanks for comments to those who made them on other thread).
I found the layout in design | libary | layouts | Web Page outer layout. I 've copied the layout changed the name to new ones and then set about making the small changes which make each layout different.

Everytime I make a change to one layout it applies to the others. Yet I went into edit | edit layout details and removed the link to the external design (as I thought this might be the problem) yet still the problem persists.

Any ideas on what I need to do to break the links between these layouts?

    regards
    bangers.

p.s When is Actinic going too sort the problem of sites dropping some reference to layouts between snapshots, or has this already been done?

This is resolved in v8.5 .. there is a thread I started in the Designer forum about this. Another work around is to remove the absolute link to the outer design.

      I'll wait before 8.5 isn't beta.

If I understand the question - in DW create separate designs for each page and only register them for that page.

I thought as much (only because it's the only thing I hadn't tried).
Seems like a pretty long winded approach and limits the customer to what they can do without having to wait for the designer to get around to sorting their small changes (most cases they won't have DW to edit the layout).
          Thanks anyway,
          regards

If they only have client, that would always be the case.

If they have catalog, then they have the design view.
