Actinic wont Start

Hi,

just recieved my upgrade cd for Actinic 8 - installed it ok imported a snapshot and spend about 3 hours playing with it and sorting out little bugs then I was attempting to change the layout when I recieved the error Actinic has encountered a problem and needs to close!
Now on opening Actinic I receive the same error and the progam wont load!

Any suggestions or will I have to re-install

(The reason that I waited so long to upgrade was because I was hoping some of the bugs would be resolved)

Snapshots are your key, do them very regular otherwise you have to start all over again. Been there done that etc.

You may find it far easier to start with a new theme rather than try to fix an old one, the upgrade process, because it is a radical change, is generally very poor at doing the upgrade.

Try the command line option to open the site:
"C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Catalog.exe" /s "Site1"

Thanks Duncan, I copied and pasted that and opened v7 - I thought my luck was in lol.
Any other ideas - whats the best uninstall and re-install?

It shoule work for V8 also:
"C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Catalog.exe" /s "Site1"

Otherwise yes uninstall and reinstall is probably your best bet.

Yes it didn't open - just encountered a serious problem!

Thanks anyway - I'm a bit disappointed with this V8 so far I hate unstable programs (although it does look pretty good)
