Norcascade displays for some domains and not others....

    I have developed a V8 site using Norcascade :

    www.woodworkingcentreshop.co.uk

This works perfectly well, as does www.woodworkingcentreshop.com which is a domain registered with the same hosting company and simply mapped or parked on the main domain.

We have a couple of other related domains which are registered with a different company and are now being forwarded onto the main site. These are

    www.woodworkingcentre.com

    www.triton-uk.com

This forwarding works perfectly well apart from one thing - Norcascade does not work. If you use either of these domain names, the site is displayed, but there is no cascading menu.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong or misunderstanding? Or is this not a Norcascade problem? Maybe it is a way that the web forwarding has been implemented?

    Hope you can help

    thanks

    Andy,

It's probably because the 2 sites are not forwarded, they are just running the other site within a frame. If you set up a permanent redirect instead of running it in a frame this will probably sort the issue. As search on the forum for 'permanent redirect' should show you how to do this. Or, add a holding page asking people to 'click here' to be forwarded to the correct site.

It also looks like there may be something wrong with the code that preloads your images. If it was created in Dreamweaver (looks like it was) you might want to look at re-doing it, just in case this is causing an issue too.

Thanks for your prompt response on this one Dave... and apologies for my tardiness in replying.

Cloaking was the problem. We have implemented a 301 Permanent Redirect and all is fine.

Haven't looked at the image preloading issue yet.... what do you think may be the problem?

        thanks again.

          Andy,

Not 100% sure as I am not familiar with the Dreamweaver code, but Firefox is reporting a syntax error on it. If it's not causing a problem then you maybe shouldn't worry about it, otherwise maybe try recreating it in Dreamweaver.
          Cheers

Thanks Dave.... I'll take a look in Firefox and follow through.

            regards
