    restore

    Hi All,
Is there a way of rstoring the settings back to the initial install/upgrade to V8.
I do not mean just the theme, I mean the whole site.
The reason I ask is that I have messed something up and cannot get the buttons to all match.
If you take a look at my site www.kessockmodels.com you will see that the home and links button does not match anything else.
I have tried selecting a new theme but it does not alter these settings.
Having read cover to cover of the guide book I have drawn a blank, and cannot see anything on this forum regarding this.
Any help would be greatly received.
    Cheers.

      update

      Hi Jo,

      Thanks for the reply.

Just to clarify, I need to unistall V8, restore a V7 snapshot and then reinstall V8.

      Seems a bit drastic.

      Cheers.

What jo says will do what you want - what you want to do is drastic.

          Hi Malcolm,

Does it usually give trouble when doing the uninstal reinstall thing?

Can't really remember what I changed to messed the link buttons up.

          Must stop messing.

          Cheers.

Un install and delete/rename the Actinic V8 flder that is left and yo should have no problem

You must do regular snapshots so you can go back - keep notes of changes done in each. Going back to previous snapshots is alot less work. some days I can do 50+ snapshots of a site if Im doing lots of design changes.

              Snapshot

              Thanks Malcom,

I do try and do snapshots (but sometimes forget).

I will do as you have advised.

              Thanks.

if you only sometimes forget, surely you must have one when you havent forgot, just reinstall that.

                  snapshot

                  Hi Lee,

I did try that, but the trouble is I managed to put this mess in early on so any snapshots I have all have the problem.

I am just unsistalling and clearing all traces of V8 and will start a fresh tomorrow (far too many hours on here today).

Thanks for all the helps guys.

I have learnt a lesson I shall not quickly forget.

                  Cheers.

I think 99% of people learn the hard way to be honest Mark, i think people think we say take regular working snapshots to get a kick ourselves and not to help.

The saving grace is that you will redo the changes far quicker than you did them first time.
