Pop up on product to enter text information

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me with this query. I sell silver gifts, and want to include engraving as an extra service. I note that sites like mine who offer this service, have a pop up that allows the customer to fill in text for the engraving, and of course this text appears on the completed order. The pop up offers several font choices, and a maximum number of engraved letters. I have no idea where to start.

I've done an add-on that's suitable for engravers / embroiderers, etc. Demo on http://www.drillpine.biz/ttrophies/a..._Products.html - it doesn't need a popup as the engraving text is hidden on the page unless the customer wants it.

You can set the number of lines, number of characters per line, number of free characters, price per extra character, overall engraving charge, etc per product.
