    Shipping

    Evening All,
I am just trying to change my postage costs as follows:
    UK Mainland orders.
    <£20 postage £3.99
    >£20 Postage £5.99
    Next Day £8.99

    Non UK Mainland.
    <£20 postage £3.99
    >£20 postage £11.99
    Next Day £13.99

    Fuel UK Mainland
    £6.99

    Fuel Non UK Mainland
    £15.99

I am going around in circles and can only get the £5.99 and non UK £11.99 to appear for delivery when placing an order over £20.
Does anyone know why I can't get the next day part to appear, as I am putting in the same setting in the class under the shipping costs but it simply is not coming up as an option.
    Please help.
    Cheers.
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

What do you have set for the 'Excess' for each of your classes?

      Setting

      Hi Tracey,
I have got the don't allow excess selected as guided by support, but this doesn't seem to be working correctly.
I did email my shipping file to kcsupport and he called me last week on 2 occassions, and again the same day I emailed the settings after changing the excess as instructed but as yet he has not come back to me.
      Any ideas.
      Thanks.

        Hi Mark,

The way I see that you need to set up your shipping is as follows:

Calculation basis set to 'by value'

        Mainland UK (zone)
        -- Standard (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £20.00...........£3.99
        £20.01...........£5.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

        --Next Day (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £1.................£8.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

        --Fuel (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £1.................£6.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

        Non Mainland UK (zone)
        --Standard (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £20.00...........£3.99
        £20.01...........£11.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

        --Next Day (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £1.................£13.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

        --Fuel (class)
        Value.............Cost
        £1.................£15.99
Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'

This should give you what you want.

            Same problem

            Hi ya

I'm having the same problem with my shipping - I want to ship to UK with a standard postage rate and a next day rate. I have set the shipping up exactly as your last post Tracey except I've got only one value which is set to £9999. I have don't allow excess ticked and take the highest value in the cart but when ever I put anything in my basket it always goes to our standard rate of £3.50 no choice for next day?

Any ideas as I've run out!

            Cheers Donna

              Hi Donna,

Can you confirm that you have the following set up:

              UK (Zone)
              -- Standard (class)
              Value.............Cost
              £9999...........£3.50
'Excess' is set to 'Don't allow Excess'

              -- Next Day (class)
              Value.............Cost
              £9999...........£x.xx
'Excess' is set to 'Don't allow Excess'

I've just tried ordering something on your site which was £299.99 and the shipping cost was £23.50 (but I didn't get a choice of anything).

                Hi Tracey

The current site (live) has shipping by weight of item £3.50 for standard and £23.50 for heavy. Sorry I should have made it clearer we're upgrading to multi user multi site http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial36724/ and that is where the change needs to take place - we are no longer selling furniture so no need for heavy item but we want a next day delivery option as some of our products people want urgently.

                Cheers D

                      Hi Donna,

Can you try the following please:

                      - go to the 'Design' menu and select 'Library'
                      - on the 'Layouts' tab, expand the 'Web Page Inner Layout' group (click the '+')
                      - right-click on 'Order 02 Bulk Area' layout and select 'revert to factory settings'
                      - close the 'Library'
                      - update your site and see if this helps.

                          Hi Donna,

I've just tried the above set up in a default site and it works without any problems. There must be something corrupt somewhere in your software so could you register a query here so that we can get a snapshot for further investigation (or call in if you have a cover contract) - please include the address to this thread so that whoever picks it up can see what we've already tried.
