Can you speed up the 'Check and Send Files' routine?

Hi All,

Is there any way to speed up the 'Check and Send files' routine in V8 Multi User. My AtinicCatalog.mdb is nearly 180mb with over 40k products. I've upgraded network to gigabit ethernet, all processing pc's have 2gb of ram on the latest Core2 processors. Sites folder is on a removable 250gb USB2.0 drive.(Perhaps this could be internal removable SATA?)

Currently the check and send files routine takes about 2.5 hours so any help greatly appreciated.

Hi John,

There are significant differences in the upload times as compared with v7 and this is due to the more flexible nature of the software.

We are constantly looking for performance improvements in all areas. This is one of the areas which has significantly changed from v7 and has been reviewed from a performance point of view since the launch of v8. However, we have yet to find any significant inefficiencies in the code, it's simply more complex functionality than before.

It should be noted that it's not the upload itself that is taking longer but the time it takes to render and check the site prior to uploading.

I would suggest trying out 8.5.0 as soon as it is out as this version has addressed some performance issues.
