access on this pc settings help

Hi, i see in v8 in business settings there is a box called access on this pc.
The in built help does not go into much detail.
Am i right in thinking you can install actinic on two pc's. one to take orders and the other to maintain the site.
If this is so how does this work in practice?
If computer (1) is used to maintain the site and you create new products will computer (2) be able to download new products ok.
It would be great if I could maintain the site on one pc as at the present i have a pc at home which i use for maintaining and a pc in the shop for day to day orders. I currently take a snapshot after each maintenance update and load that onto the shop pc.

That will work OK - PC 2 will be acting as an order manager any new products you add on PC1 will download OK.

You will only need to transfer order details back to PC 1 every now and then to keep the marketing feeds upto date if you use them

hi, don't suppose it is poassable to protect the settings in actinic by the way of a password, so that the user who downloads the orders can not go into settings and reinable access to design/updating

You need to use the 'Design | Deploy Snapshot' option, this will enable you to select what functions are carried out on the target installation and are not changeable.
