    Short Description has a 255 limit, as do some of the other text entries, but Full Description should happily take several THOUSAND words.

    YES 100% in the full description box im going to post a screen shot in a moment

        With no spaces in it, it has no choice but to not wrap. Try it with something that would actually go in there, like a true test then. Unless of course your customers can read in binary.

        go into Word and type:

        =rand()

        and use that to have something meaningful.

          No still wont work ive tried pasting a set 255 characters using a nursery ryme and a soon as it gets to 255 thats it. One you enter more letters (words) it throws the right truncation error

          AHHHHHHHHHHH !!!

          It has stopped going all he way to the end of the browser as in the previous picture since making spaces but wont allow more than 255 characters

                Given you have already previously stated in the forum that you have been into the database, you may well have changed something inadvertently which is causing this.

                Id check the data type for the field that is giving you grief, should be set to memo i think.

                  Ok Lee

                  Here goes ive oped DB file and look in the field name (Full Description) opened the design view and along side full description its say 255

                  See the image

                  However i have read in access that this cannot be changed any higher written in blue at the bottom of the image

                    Thats your problem then, you've been in the database and been changing things by the look of it. Follow the above post to change it.

                    Back it up too, heavens knows what else has been changed in there.

                        I doubt it, only you would have changed that Keith.

                        I have done the advanced access course and can do anything i need to in an access database, but the actinic one i steer well clear of. I have pictures of you just waltzing around it like you are buying some sweets.

                        Stay out of it Keith at all costs.
