    v8.5.0..

Just setup on our spare machine here, imported our site had no problems!

But got a few annoying points:

    - No section shipping settings, if we fully update got to go through 3200 products to set each shipping category.
    - UPS settings still get imported even on the UK version of Actinic and I was told by Actinic this would not happen at all! Not happy at all about this.
    - Keep getting SSP Setup Control error -.- any ideas anyone?

Hmm, not really that confident with the new version at the moment now.

    Hi Richard

Did you use the patch or was it a clean install?

Total clean install from the best of my knowledge, download the file straight from the Actinic website.

        Thats a bit worrying.

We have two sites due to go out this week and v8.5 has been requested?

        Happy days.....

Any timeline on the fixes from Actinics corner been stated?

It sounds like you have accidentally download a US version of the software at some point, which has added data in the database that isn't supported by your UK version of the software.

If you have MS Access you can edit the db directly to get rid of the US stuff. Take a snapshot first and then delete all content in the following tables in ActinicCatalog.mdb
          • SSPProvider
          • SSPProviderClasses
          • SSPProviderFeature
          • SSPProviderFeatureSetup
          • SSPProviderVersions
That should get rid of the errors.

            Thanks Chris, works great!

Can I make a suggestion that your support staff know about this as a member of the support staff didn't and I was just told run the UK version and it will be gone...

I'll be sure to circulate this to the support team.

I too was a little disappointed that the catagory for shipping could not be set at section level.

I have updated most of my site but still having to go through 50% of my products and manually set each catagory.

                Cheers

                  On a slightly related note:
When in "Settings | Business Settings" in the Shipping Tab clicking on the Help button returns a warning dialog box stating:

                  Failed to launch help

A bit annoying for new users to the software and existing users wanting immediate help on the new shipping features.

Bum - missed that one - sorry.

I completely re-wrote all the shipping help fron scratch to try and make it easier to follow, and then ended up forgetting to link the 'Help' button to the new help topics. I'll attend to it in the next maintenance release.

If you look at the 'Shipping and Handling' section of the help, you'll get all the articles that have been re-tooled, and read about the joys of volumetric shipping. It's as interesting as it sounds.
