OK i have not had the problem since and am running the current live 8.5

What i did, when the script got fixed, was to deleted everything from the website then uploaded the site as a complete new site. You probably have some old pl or fil files hanging around. sometimes it works to cange the script id number then you know if your browser is using old pages, i have had a nightmare with IE7 using old test scripts when i was testing, it got confused between the live site and test sites and somehow managed to mix them up, seemed ok in FF though.

It is one of those annoying features in actinic, sometimes it does not update the old files correctly.

FTP to your site and "delete everything" i.e. get rid of it all and then refresh.

Have you tried changing the script numbers? did you delete the actalog contents or the cgi contents?

This is a bit of a woolley answer, either you have or you haven't. Let me ask it more direct - have you deleted all of the files within the "acatalog" folder and have you deleted all of the files within the "cgi-bin" folder. Have you then confirmed that both the folders are still in place and that the correct permissions are in place. Do this first and get the basics right.

These scripts are used by hundreds, maybe even thousands of us and only you 2 have this error. Its quite clearly something to do with your sites, whether that be hosting, actinic, database or something else.

Reinstall V8 from scratch ensuring it is removed first and the actinic folder is removed. Import your network settings into the test actinic site and see if it uploads. If it does, its obviously something you have done incorrectly on your current shop, if it doesn't then i would suggest a hosting error.

I will try uploading the demo shop that is installed when you install actinic. What i dont undersatnd Lee is if i go back a version to 8.03 and 8.04 in works fine. So to me this is not a problem with the host sserver or the shop. "Please quote me if i am wrong " I have looked on the hostand i deleted the files within acatalog and the CGIbin. I think the actual folder called CGIbin may have been deleted by mistake but i can upload a folder by this name again.

i have deleted EVERYTHING on the site including deleting the cgi-bin folder and starting from scratch but i still get the error. i will try changing the script id but as i have deleted everything and started from scratch i don't think that will work.

If you have deleted everything, then make sure you run the actinic network test and confirm it passes the network test. If it does you are then clear to look into it. Empty folders on website and leave with correct permissions, run the network test and makes sure it passes all tests, then run the site update of the example actinic store. See what happens.

Keith, it may well be actinic, who knows, i would have expected something to show up on a lot more sites. If you follow the above steps and it works you can then delve deeper. Without the basics in place, its totally pointless trying anything else in your situation.

Is your bandwidth allocation on your sites up to the max and you are over?

i have ran the network test and it reports that there is no problems.

i have now tried uploading the demo site and that seems to work fine.

leeshack, what do you think the problem could be on my site???

My site is now working OK

So heres what i did Dragon Soft

                                1. Delete all the files on the server (everthing and make sure theres no hidden files)
                                2. Upload the demo site in full and it should work as you have said (my worked to)
                                3. Delete these files off the server once again.
                                4. Open Catalog a go to the help tab and scroll down to troubleshooting
5.Run perge session files (nothing should happen as all the files off the server have been deleted)
6 Run website purge and refresh
7 This as worked on mine ok
                                8. try a order and see if i works.

I must also say i dont have a clue what was going on but it works now. Im also not sure what effect this will have on any current orders or customers you have on your store so be careful and back up

                                Hope it works

                                Let us know
