Adding products -- other PC.

Hi all,

At the risk of sounding stupid(!), what is the best way to add products by using another PC?

Is there a main 'products file' that I can export and import, or would I have to go for the full blown 'depart site' option?

create an import file either flat or hierarcical to then update (not replace)
